SALES MYTH No. 1

To be successful in sales you need to have the gift of the gab. if you are very eloquent and can talk your way out of difficult situations you have it made in sales. In fact if you like to talk very much and can present very well you are not guaranteed of being a success in sales. Winning people to your way of thinking actually requires more LISTENING skills than talking.

SALES MYTH No. 2

To be successful in sales if you can keep closing the customer you will make more sales. Closing in most sales context is forcing or coercing the customer to buy what you are offering. Being able to close means being able to sweet talk and manipulate the customer into submission To be able to close sales you first need to understand the customers needs and wants and his problem

SALES MYTH No. 3

Good product knowledge is enough to help a salesperson sell effectively. In fact too much of a product knowledge will actually hinder the salesperson from selling more effectively because he will be very focused on the product rather than the needs of his customer Too much product knowledge may confuse the buyer and make it more difficult for him to decide on a purchase.
